From paperwork to metalwork.
VinTech offers a full range of expertise and services needed to complete your purchase, restoration or repair.
Planning, Precision, Progress
The restoration of a vintage aircraft requires knowledge in a wide continuum of skill-sets — from the thorough administration and timely completion of importation and regulatory demands to the highly technical and dirty hands-on disassembly and ground-up rebuild of a high performance fighter or classic aircraft. It requires planning in the board room, sweat, oil, old records and time on the hangar floor and a shelf full of paperwork. Above all, it requires skills, techniques and knowledge that have long-since disappeared from an ordinary AMO’s abilities. At VinTech, we have spent more than two decades acquiring and putting into practice the knowledge needed to restore your classic aircraft or keep it flying safely.
-
We are known around the world for the purity and authenticity of our restoration work. Whether it’s wood, fabric and steel frame biplanes or vintage bush planes or advanced monocoque fighters, we can take your entire aircraft or wings down to the bones and back up. Our facilities are purpose—built to accomplish your ressurection.

Annual inspections on vintage high-performance warbirds, military trainers, biplanes, and classic float planes require require specialized knowledge of many unique and long-lost systems — vintage in-line and radial engines, pneumatic brakes, superchargers, fuel systems and Rube Goldberg plumbing and wiring systems.
We have that knowledge. We know what to look for. We know where to look.
Let us get your vintage aircraft ready for another year of flying operations.

If you’re thinking of owning a vintage aircraft, whether it’s a simple but classic Piper Cub or a Cold War Era Sabre Jet, Vintech can inspect it for you at the seller’s facility or here in ours.
We know what to look for. Corrosion in unseen places, hairline cracks in manifolds, telltale stains, end-of-life components, misalignments, non-spec parts, curious paperwork. They all tell a story. Perhaps not the same story the seller is telling.
A vintage aircraft purchase can turn into a nightmare money pit. We can help you avoid that.
-
Paperwork is the bane of any restoration or aircraft build — whether it’s a homebuilt or a vintage historical aircraft. Without proper paper and digital records, airworthiness certificates can be held up or even denied. We have decades of experience and the proven organizational skills to audit and review historical and technical records to ensure your aircraft is in full compliance with Canadian and North American federal recording requirements.
-
At VinTech, we’ve completed successful importations of vintage aircraft to or from Great Britain, the United States, New Zealand, Belgium, Czech Republic and Kenya.
Importation can be a daunting process. We have experience working with brokers, shippers, insurers, national heritage regulators and customs officials and can make the importation of your vintage aircraft a seamless experience. Dismantling, crating, and loading these priceless historical artifacts is something we have years of experience in.
-
Sourcing parts and authentic materials for vintage aircraft restoration and repair can be a major stumbling block in the restoration of historic aircraft causing unplanned delays for the return of your aircraft to the skies. VinTech has the experience, tooling and facilities to spec-build aircraft components in aluminum, steel and wood.
In some cases, we have to create new tools to fabricate parts as factory jigs, forms and special tools are both long gone and designed for assembly-line work, not the artisanal craft we practice.
-
VinTech has deep experience with synthetic and natural fabrics including linen and Ceconite as well as museum-quality stitching and finishing. The facility also houses an expandable paint booth for large components, capable of accommodating assembled wings and fuselages — ready to put the final authentic finish on your freshly restored aircraft.
-
After two decades of historic aircraft restoration and operation, we’ve learned a lot about the mid-century period where they were born. Our experts can help you research, verify or expand the provenance of your aircraft. We can research and write airframe histories, design paint schemes, research historical and authentic markings, create stencils and provide original paint colous and position instructions. We can even hand paint nose art to perfectly replicate the feel and style of the original.
-
In the world of vintage aircraft and warbirds, provenance is king. A proper record of provenance holds the value of your historic aircraft. We have detail-oriented people who can research its history and bring it to life. We can provide stunning air-to-air photography and video to record your restoration all way to its return to the sky. We can create in-depth visual storybooks of the provenance, arrival, disassembly, rebuild and flight test that will compliment your historic and authentic restoration — providing show judges with a full record of the quality and thoroughness of any restoration.

Installation solutions to maintain the original layout and conserve the authentic look of the instrument panel in your vintage aircraft. Examples: Re-purposing the gun fire button on your control column into a push-to-talk or hiding a modern avionics setup inside the shell of a period radio box. Between our researchers and our instrument and metalworking experts, we can create solutions that camouflage state-of-the-art avionics behind period-correct panels.
